About Derrick Houston

Derrick has been in real estate for ten years. Before embarking on a career in real estate, Derrick served his country honorably for nine years in the United States Navy supervising young aviation electronics technicians. After transitioning from the military to civilian life, Derrick brought his advanced electronic, supervisory and management skills to various supervisory and management roles. Most recently, Derrick managed over 500 properties via a third-party property manager network covering 13 states for a national asset & property management company. In this role, Derrick learned the ins/outs of the property management industry interacting with many different property managers small and large. Prior to that experience, Derrick worked in the Caribbean as the assistant construction manager for a single family and multi-family construction company in Trinidad & Tobago building in three developments on three islands. Derrick's knowledge encompasses residential construction, real estate sales (both single family and multi-family), property management, and land acquisition for redevelopment.
